2016 has been an adventure that’s for sure. In the United States, We the People got a baptism by fire when it comes to understanding party politics. At the Republican convention, a whole lot of Ted Cruz supporters got a lesson in how to be a weasel.
Following a disgraceful speech in prime time, called a long suicide note by Dr. Charles Krauthammer, a non-practicing psychiatrist, Senator Ted Cruz started hemorrhaging supporters. There are still some who are trying to keep the faith. Others are still predicting a Hillary Clinton win. But more of them not employed by the Salem Media Group or National Review express sentiments like those of Geraldine Sam, former Mayor of La Marque, TX. Thanks to Real Clear Politics for spelling out the quote:
“If you cannot be a person, a word of your bond, then guess what, if I can’t trust you to say and do what you’re going to say, then how are you going to expect me to trust you to say any other things?” Sam asked.
“If you lied to me, then that’s telling me you lied to me,” Sam said of Cruz. “You lied to me. You lied and said you were going to support the party nominee and you won’t. Then you lied to me. And I’m very upset at this time. When you walked on, I turned my back. Why? Because you lied to me. And don’t take my vote for granted because you lied to me.”
“I came to this convention as a Cruz delegate and I’m leaving supporting Donald Trump as the party nominee,” she concluded.
The statement was given following a VERY contentious meeting between the former presidential candidate and the delegation from his adopted state of Texas. (Watch what happens when a black woman discovers someone has lied.)

WHEW! Wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this woman’s wrath.
Seriously, if the man, Cruz, lied about supporting the party’s nominee no matter what, what else has he lied about? How does this make him any different than Hillary Clinton? We know she lied. We know she lied repeatedly. So what makes this snake in the grass different?
