The National Rifle Association has an EPIC response to Obama’s Gun Control
Chris W. Cox, the executive director for the NRA, gave a statement on Tuesday regarding Obama’s Executive Order on Gun Control.
In it, he affirmed “We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be harassed or intimidated… nor will we allow them to become scapegoats for President Obama’s failed policies.”
Cox asserted that the President’s dramatically emotional speech was part of “an ongoing attempt to distract attention away from his lack of a coherent strategy to keep the American people safe from terrorist attack.”
Though he probably could have dropped the mic right then, he continued.
He went on to add “The American people do not need more emotional, condescending lectures that are completely devoid of facts.”

And, really, he’s right. How many times do we, the people, need to be told that Obama doesn’t think that we are smart enough or mature enough to handle firearms? This marks, at least, the 17th time Obama has called for more gun control.
Chris Cox is not looking to put anyone in harm’s way. In fact, he said “The men and women of the National Rifle Association take a back seat to no one when it comes to keeping our communities safe. But the fact is that President Obama’s proposals would not have prevented any of the horrific events he mentioned.”
One thing the President fails to realize is that laws only effect law-abiding citizens. The people committing the acts that Obama routinely refers to are criminals. Criminals, by definition, do not follow the law. Passing more will simply give them more to ignore.
“The proposed executive actions are ripe for abuse by the Obama Administration, which has made no secret of its contempt for the Second Amendment,” Cox went on to say.
Not backing down from his stance, the NRA exec reassured “The NRA will continue to fight to protect the fundamental, individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms as guaranteed under our Constitution.”
On a side note, no tissues were needed during Chris Cox’s response.
