Mass Stabbing 1 Dead At Least 6 Injured
A mass stabbing in Central London has left one woman dead and six others injured. One person has been arrested following the attack after being tasered by the police.
Early reports are coming in about a possibility of terrorism, although they say gang violence can not be ruled out either.
“Terrorism is one possibility being explored at this stage,” the statement said.
The stabbing took place at a tourist hot spot Russel Square and up to six people have been rushed to a local hospital. Their injuries are not known at this time.
Paramedics tried to save the woman but she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The stabbings happened outside the Imperial Hotel. A forensic tent has been set up in the center of the square, which is near the British Museum.
Police said they were called to the scene just after 11.30 pm local time after reports of a man with a knife “injuring people”.
A witness said he saw a “body on the floor” and “lots of armed police”.
Another said the boots of the victim were visible sticking out from underneath a white sheet covering the body.
