Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn SLAMS Hillary: “Unworthy” To Be President

It is not very often that former intelligence and military personnel make blanket statements about presidential candidates.  And it certainly is not Lt. General Michael Flynn’s (Ret. Army) habit to make public pronouncements regarding the fitness of any one person for public office.  In light of all the revelations regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s irregular email practices, the former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency made an exception.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller, Flynn SLAMMED the former first lady and her bid to move back into the White House.  Specific comments from him in a wide ranging piece with statements from a number of former intelligence officers:

”I think Hillary Clinton, for the good of the country, should step down and let this FBI investigation play out.”…

The documents “had to be moved off electronically or removed out of the secure site physically, then it had to be put onto an unclassified email system,” Flynn said. “Someone who does this is completely irresponsible, but totally unaccountable and shows a streak of arrogance to the American public that is unworthy of anyone thinking they can run for President of the United States.”…

“This is unbelievable,” Flynn said. “I don’t think anybody should be talking about her being potentially the next President of the United States.”…

“What was going through this woman’s mind as she is reading this information on her own unclassified system,” asked Flynn. “Did she think that nobody, the Russians or the Chinese was looking at it? Did she think this was the right thing to do?”…

What was going through Hillary Clinton’s mind while all this was going on is anyone’s guess.  However, it is known that while she was Secretary of State there was no oversight from an inspector general, a matter that did get attention from some in the public at the time, but never got traction until the Intelligence Community IG, Charles McCullough started writing letters to Congress that some of the emails being fished out of the Clinton server had classifications that made them too secret to release, even redacted.  At last count, there are almost 30 of these emails, and their presence on the server exposed actual, real time operations to hackers from all over the globe.

In the Daily Caller piece, other former intelligence officials and military personnel talked about the deliberateness of this careless behavior:

“You have to physically do it. You have to willfully violate the law.  There is no connectivity in any way between classified and non-classified systems,” said [Special Forces Col. James Williamson (Ret.).]

“In order for Mrs. Clinton to get Top Secret/Special Access Programs onto her private server, numerous, redundant safeguards were deliberately bypassed, probably by unauthorized personnel who were given access to these documents. It was a deliberate, intentional act.  It just could not happen by accident,” [Col. James Waurishuk, former deputy director of intelligence for the U.S. Central Command] said.

And it is this deliberateness that leads a man like Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, widely regarded and respected in Washington, to express disgust at the idea that Hillary Clinton could possibly be president come next January.  If she was willing to compromise American national security with carelessness as Secretary of State, what would she do as president?
