Using an unnamed source, Daily Caller is reporting that Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic Party’s nominee for president will be meeting with the FBI in relation to the probe into her email and communication habits while she was Secretary of State. It is said that to help deal with logistical issues, the FBI may meet with Clinton at her Washington, D.C. home. The Fourth of July weekend was chosen, supposedly, because there were no campaign stops on Hillary Clinton’s schedule.
FBI investigators have already interviewed several Clinton aides, including her former chief of staff Cheryl Mills and her deputy chief of staff, Huma Abedin. Investigators have also interviewed Bryan Pagliano, the former State Department information technology specialist who maintained Clinton’s server. The Justice Department gave Pagliano limited immunity in exchange for his cooperation in the probe.
According to all sources for the FBI’s investigation, Clinton is one of the last people to be interviewed. Normally, information on said interviews would be released after they have taken place, but thanks to news of a private meeting on the tarmac at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport between Mrs. Clinton’s consort Bill and Attorney General Loretta Lynch that has garnered an unbelievable amount of speculation regarding the nature of the meeting and what was said, news is coming to light that the FBI/Hillary Clinton interview will finally occur.
Past interviews with Clinton probe witnesses have reportedly been conducted by FBI agents, lawyers with the Justice Department’s National Security division and prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Alexandria, Va.
It is said that FBI Director James Comey has taken a direct interest in this investigation and is briefed daily as to the progress. He has claimed to be adamant about not tainting the criminal investigation with whiffs of political influence, an attempt that was submarined by the Bill Clinton/Loretta Lynch meeting on Monday. (Tainted is too tame a word for what that meeting did to the optics.)
On Thursday, Judicial Watch, the government watchdog group, asked the Justice Department’s inspector general to open an ethics investigation into Lynch’s conduct. The group pointed out that, in addition to the probe into Hillary Clinton’s activities, the FBI is reportedly conducting a public corruption investigation involving the Clinton Foundation.
The FBI has not responded to Daily Caller for a comment. More information will be reported as it comes available.
