Bill Clinton’s mind is far from a steel trap, a dangerous thing when he is prone to leaving the other trap open and engaged. He’s developing a knack for saying the wrong thing, and in this particular instance, it’s against the thin-skinned occupant of the White House. That might not be a wise move, given his efforts in keeping Mrs. Bill Clinton’s name off of a courtroom docket and her travel itinerary free of any trips to the big house. She really doesn’t want to give Obama any reason to withdraw is support. Bill’s going have some splainin to do.
In a campaign speech in which he’s pitching the benefits of his wife being elected president, Clinton’s task is daunting enough in itself. Aside from her presumption of being female, she’s really only got her record to run on and it is not a good one. Having been personally responsible for the destruction of Libya as well as the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi doesn’t inspire people to support you.
Add to that the Obama protection in preventing espionage charges from being formally filed and prosecuted as well as her mountain of felonies and the Obama record starts to look pretty stellar. There’s also the Clinton disregard for regulations, the security of the American people, the safety of our own undercover agents, the loss of trust among our allies and respect among all the nations of the world and she’s undeniably the worst Secretary of State in American history. That kind of distinction does nothing to enhance one’s election prospects.
Clinton is probably providing one of her rare truthful statements in her assertion that she is a woman, but being president might require just a bit more than that.
In presenting his case for electing his troubled candidate to office, Bill Clinton said, “There may be many reasons that you don’t want to support her. But if you believe we can all rise together, if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the seven years before that, where we were practicing trickle down economics and no regulation in Washington, it’s what caused the crash, then you should vote for her.”
Billy has his years a little confused, Bush was in for eight and although it seems much longer, Obama has only been a thorn in the side of America for a little over seven. He’s also forgetting that a huge chunk of that awful legacy was the work of his wife, the candidate he’s supposedly promoting.
She was the Secretary of State for more than half of the miserable Obama tenure to this point. He failed to make the case as to how returning someone to the White House that was responsible for the majority of that awful period will bring us something other than more awfulness.
He might want to start thinking of how he’s going to spin his way out of these comments. Then again, this is bigger than the Clintons. George Soros will patch things up.
In the future just keep your mouth shut, Bill. Go chase some women or something.
