Active SHOOTER at Crabtree Valley Mall!

Raleigh, NC police were working to secure Crabtree Valley Mall Saturday afternoon after responding to reports of gunshots being fired inside.

Authorities said nobody was being allowed in or out of the mall at 4:20 p.m., and they said no suspects have been arrested. Police also said they had not found anyone inside the mall suffering from gunshot wounds.

Raleigh police were called to the mall at about 2:45 p.m. Glenwood Avenue was shut down near the mall as a result of the shooting. Drivers should avoid the area.

“I thought it was an earthquake when people started running,” Rice said. “It was panic.”

Photos from inside the mall showed responding authorities with their weapons drawn. Tony Rice, a NASA Solar System Ambassador and contributor to WRAL.com, said he sheltered in place when people began screaming and running from the mall. Rice said he passed by law enforcement officials as he left the mall.

“I thought it was an earthquake when people started running,” Rice said. “It was panic.” At this time there are no suspects in custody. No information has been released on if there are any injuries. Please check back for updates.
