Jen Psaki Moving From State Department To White House

Jen Psaki finger

It looks like Matt Lee of the Associated Press will have to spar with a different State Department spokesperson.  Jen Psaki has been chosen to lead the White House Communications.

“I’d say Jen is irreplaceable — if Jen Psaki hadn’t agreed to step in,” Obama said. “I fully trust Jen — and I am thrilled she’s agreed to come back to the White House as communications director.”

Quit rubbing your hands with glee.  Josh Earnest hasn’t left so he will most likely be doing the major spinning.  Jen gets the Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Psaki will be replacing Jennifer Palmieri, an old hand at Democratic strategerizing, in the post of Communications Director at least until she welcomes a new baby in July.  At that point, the Obama Administration will work with her so that she can have it all.

There is no word from Washington as yet regarding who will replace the pretty much unflappable Ms. Psaki at the State Department.  We out here on the fruited plain will very much miss her trying to put lipstick on pigs, though.
