In the Celebrity Apprentice’s 14th season opener, Keshia Knight Pulliam was the first to be fired, for not calling her former TV dad, Bill Cosby.
Pulliam was chosen to be the project manager for the female team. They were to raise money for each celebrity’s favorite charity. Her teammates kept on her about contacting Bill Cosby to ask for a donation to help their team. Pulliam, 35, hesitated and instead told them she would rather reach out to people in the immediate area (New York City) to get donations.
Pulliam’s team lost to the male team, lead by Kevin Jonas.
Donald Trump called her out on not calling Cosby. To which she replied,
“I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don’t know how long. So, for me to pick up the phone, having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a ‘Cosby’ event, I feel that’s not my place to do.”
Trump didn’t take to her excuse.
“I really believe, if you’d called that gentleman, he would’ve helped you, even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years, because you were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever,” he said, “So, I think it would’ve been a very good call to make for charity. But you have to take responsibility. I think you agree with that.”
Even though Kate Gosselin did not earn any money for her team, Pulliam was fired – specifically for not calling Cosby.
During the season premiere, Trump took to Twitter clarifying that “This show was taped just before the terrible Bill Cosby revelations came to light. She still should have asked him for money – goes to charity.”
