Arrest Warrant Issued for Bill Cosby
Hey! Hey! Hey! Do they make those Cosby sweaters in inmate orange? For his sake, let’s hope so. An arrest warrant for aggravated sexual assault has officially been issued for Bill Cosby.
Just days before the statute of limitations was due to expire on the 2004 alleged assault of Andrea Constand, the Montgomery County, PA prosecutor has filed charges.
Up to this point Cosby has maintained that what took place at his mansion in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania between he and Constand was consensual.
Given that Andrea Constand says she is gay and was in a relationship with a woman at the the time, his stance becomes suspect.
The case was reopened under the radar last summer when detectives were sent to interview Constand in Ontario, Canada where she now resides and works as a massage therapist. The new investigation only came to light as part of the race for Montgomery County District Attorney.
Dolores Troiani, Constand’s legal representative told PEOPLE in September that her client would fully cooperate if Cosby was arrested. “She’ll do whatever she needs to do, whatever they ask of her.”
While Constand has not commented, her attorney expressed their appreciation by saying “We’ll have to see what happens. We hope justice will be done. Obviously we appreciate the expression of confidence in her.”
Bill Cosby continues to emphatically deny all the charges. He has gone so far as to file defamation lawsuits against several of his accusers. Regarding those suits, Troiani has only one comment. “I think this arrest warrant speaks for itself. I don’t think I have to talk any louder than they have.”
