If there’s a new Center for Medical Progress (CMP) video featuring Planned Parenthood out, it must be Tuesday. Three weeks in a row now, CMP has treated an unsuspecting world to the sights and sounds of officials from Planned Parenthood discussing how much cash they can get for baby body parts from middlemen type companies that transport fetal organs salvaged from abortions to researchers who use the tissue for, well, whatever they are using baby body parts for.
Previously, the Planned Parenthood officials, both women physicians who discussed altering the procedure in order to be able to extract certain organs intact – less “crunchy” techniques that don’t crush the body cavity where valuable large organs can be found – were the stars of the CMP videos. This time, a phlebotomist, a person who draws blood for a living (in her words), who worked for a company, StemExpress, that benefits from abortions done at Planned Parenthood is interviewed. When she answered a Craig’s List add, she had no idea she would be procuring Fetal Tissue for Planned Parenthood.
“For whatever we could procure, they would get a certain percentage,” said Holly O’Donnell, identified as an ex-procurement technician for StemExpress, a Placerville, Calif., company. “The main nurse was always trying to make sure we got our specimens. No one else really cared, but the main nurse did because she knew that Planned Parenthood was getting compensated.”
If you, gentle reader, are the least bit squeamish, DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO. It gets graphic. (This writer is still gagging.) Highlights will be below for those who want to take a pass. For those with stronger constitutions, the video can be seen here.
For those who did not watch, O’Donnell describes what the company she worked for, StemExpress, sought to extract: “brain, liver, thymus, pancreas, heart, lungs – pretty much anything on the fetus.” Her job was to figure out if women six months pregnant who sought an abortion were suitable matches for tissue procurement. O’Donnell claims that her first day on the job, she fainted. In the recovery room of a Planned Parenthood clinic, one of the nurses said to her, “Oh, you’re new, huh? Don’t worry it still happens to a bunch of us…some of us don’t ever get over it.”
The majority of the video, titled, “Human Capital: Episode 1 – Planned Parenthood’s Black Market in Baby Parts” is a sit-down interview with O’Donnell where she recounts her experiences. For the most part, the middlemen go into the clinics and take what they want from freshly killed babies. However, as it progresses CMP reminds us that despite all the protests from Planned Parenthood that the body parts are donated by the mothers, the goal of the people O’Donnell worked for, and the Planned Parenthood officials is profit – $60 for this, $70 for that, and $230 for something else.
Included at 2:38 in the video is a fee schedule of what compensation is per specimen with Advanced Biomedical Research, a procurement company, effective January 1, 2015. Top price: $550 for a complete 8-12 week fetus or intact full term umbilical cord. There is also a scene where a technician is picking apart one of the dead infants with tweezers looking for the pieces that can be sold. A pair of intact kidneys gets gold stars. There are the most disgusting clips from the previous two videos to remind us of how this scandal got its start, as well. (Just what is the blood price for a Lamborghini?)
And of course there are reminders that the sale of dead baby body parts is illegal. Planned Parenthood uses language slights to justify their actions, but at this point, it’s impossible to ignore that they are trafficking viable infants killed in the womb for profit.
“Now [the owner of StemExpress] is making a lot of money, based off of poor girls who half the time don’t even want to get an abortion. It’s a pretty sick company.”
Regardless of one’s position on abortion at any point during pregnancy, the Center for Medical Progress is shining a spotlight on a “non-profit” that preys on poor, confused, and stressed women, kills their children in the name of good, and then picks out what they can selling the pieces even if they call it something else. There is no denying that a human being dies in the procedure when one is describing heart, lungs, brains, intact kidneys and a pancreas.
And there is no way, after all of this, Planned Parenthood can hide behind the concept that an unborn baby at any age is “a pile of goo” or “just a lump of tissue.” That ship has sailed. They are in the business of killing babies. Plain and simple.
