White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, of Benghazi email notoriety, made another statement that he may wish he hadn’t. During a Friday press briefing, Rhodes told the truth, always a risky proposition within the Obama regime.
Rhodes was asked if he agreed with the assessment by former CIA acting director Mike Morel that the beheading of James Foley by an ISIS swine was a terrorist act against the United States. Rhodes said in response, “Well absolutely, when you see somebody killed in such a horrific way, that represents a terrorist attack,†leading one to wonder if they hadn’t been so brutal in the method of killing an American does it then not rise to the level of terrorism?
Characterizing it as an attack both against our country and an American citizen, Rhodes then goes on to tout America being able to prevent the ISIS advance on Irbil, as if one, isolated and largely strategically insignificant response to an overwhelming enemy presence and threat somehow buys absolution for the a policy of hand wringing, indecision, inaction and cowardice. It doesn’t.
Rhodes has admitted that an American was killed by Islamic terrorists and once again, just as in Benghazi, the regime is attempting to avoid rather than address the issue.
He is clearly engaged in damage control, covering for the ever-golfing and vacationing Obama, who refuses to let matters of national importance get between him and the next tee box. The regime has admitted to the nature of the problem, at least in a limited way, although the preoccupied Obama can’t be personally bothered or interrupted for very long.
The important question that needs to be answered now is not, as Obama and company might believe, the yardage of the next hole. It is what will be the American response.
We’ve been hit; what are we going to do about it? People are always losing their balls on America’s golf courses. Maybe Hussein Obama will find some.
