IRS Commissioner John Koskinen has requested that he be allowed to return to clarify testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and the committee chairman, Rep Darrell Issa (R-CA) has agreed to allow him to do so.
Issa agrees that it is a good idea for Koskinen to return, saying that either Lois Lerner’s attorney is not telling the truth or the Commissioner was inaccurate in his testimony.
Issa points out that William Taylor, Lerner’s lawyer, is not under oath, while the Commissioner would be.
Issa believes that the statement of Koskinen will support his belief that in spite of Taylor’s assertions that his client is innocent, they are long past a question of guilt. Issa says “She broke rules, she broke the law, and she continues to hide.†He adds, “She is a person who has been referred for criminal prosecution.â€
