Never has a nation once so great tried to turn its own people against each other as in these days. According to the Tea Party News Network, kids in schools are being taught that pilgrims were the first terrorists, that America doesn’t want Obama as president because it’s a racist nation, and now, that white people are all racist and the only reason they have what they have is because of “white privilege,” no matter about all of their hard work and sacrifice.
No matter that George Washington Carver, as just one example, one of the most brilliant minds to ever live, who also happened to be black in skin color, had his life saved by a white man when he was just a baby. The man that saved him risked his own life, his reputation, his livelihood, and most of his possessions to save a half-dead baby. Let’s not teach both sides of history, the good and the bad. Let’s teach only the bad, only what promotes hate and the racist agenda.
The University of Notre Dame has stooped to such a level. Beginning in Spring of 2015, it will be offering a conference for credit called the “White Privilege Seminar.” The cost of registration, transportation and housing of pupils attending the course will be covered by the University. According to Campus Reform via TPNN, Notre Dame has not responded to their request for information on how the money is being provided. The course will be six weeks long and will teach students “the definitions of, historical/current paradigm of, and causes/effects of white privilege,” and expects students to “leave the class and conference more aware of injustices and better equipped with tools to disrupt personal, institutional, and worldwide systems of oppression.”
Mark Gianfalla, campus activist, told the Daily Caller of Iris Outlaw, the professor in charge of the course,
“This is a faculty member who helped organize protests against the College Republicans’ hosting of Ann Coulter on campus last year under premise that Ann was a perpetrator of racial ‘hate speech.’ Nothing is stopping her, however, from spewing the idea of white privilege and consequently white guilt in a University sanctioned course. The problem I see with this course is that it is teaching a flawed and inherently racist sociological theory as fact. This isn’t education, it’s indoctrination. Where is the required counterpoint course on affirmative action? It does not exist because that idea does not fit with the social and racial agenda of the professor.”
“The Africana studies department is renowned as a promoter of liberal and racially problematic bias. The official Africana studies department bulletin board is still currently solely devoted to attacking the college republicans and Ann Coulter, rallying against the freedom of speech and categorizing her political activity as ‘hate speech.'”
I hear so much about “hatred,” “racial inequality,” “racism,” “prejudice.” I see Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson getting rich off of other people’s hurt and supposed “racism.” If they truly cared for people, if they truly cared about a solution, why haven’t we heard about peace, resolution, forgiveness, working together? Why do they continue to pit people against each other? “United we stand, divided we fall.” I hear nothing about equality. Instead, all I see are rich politicians and the media promoting hatred, division, who’s better than who. They don’t care about equality, they just want to start a fight so they can make money!
Not to mention, “white privilege” is a joke. What about all the Irish in the early 1900s? They were treated worse than blacks simply because they were poor and well…Irish. But news flash: they had white skin. “Pretty privilege” is more prevalent. And that is in all cultures.
What about Abraham Lincoln, the first president to actually give a damn about right and wrong and the suffering of his fellow human beings? What about all the men that died fighting their own countrymen, their own blood relatives just because they believed equality belonged to all human beings no matter what their physical aspects? Why aren’t history classes focusing on that as well these days?
If the goal is equality, forgiveness, freedom, love and peace, why isn’t that what’s promoted?? Why the violence, why the hatred, why the stereotypes?
I don’t see people accepting differences or even promoting it, I see people continuously defining themselves by a physical aspect of their bodies! That’s not who you are! Who you choose to sleep with, what tone your skin is, what color your hair is, how big your boobs are, the height of your frame, that stuff doesn’t make you who you are!!! What makes you who you are is what’s on the inside. What happens when a dark haired man dyes his hair blonde? Does it change who he is? NO. What happens when a white woman gets a tan? Does she stop being racist? Hello, let’s use our brains here, people!! The ones leading all of this hate and racism are using their brains. They’re making all the money and growing in power while we tear each other apart, blindly following everything they throw at us. WAKE UP.
See the thing that gets me is: the media and these rich, famous politicians keep showing and telling us about how all Americans are just bad and full of hate and discriminate against people who are the slightest bit different than they are. I have yet to see it with my own eyes. I have met many people from all over the country, and many of different nationalities; I have friends and family of every hair color, skin tone, sexual orientation, religion, and career. And I continue to meet new ones on a daily basis. Guess what? I have yet to meet one of these people the media says we all are! The real people are in fact accepting and respectful of others, even if they don’t agree with everything in that person’s life. I have noticed that the people who are completely saturated in mainstream media are the ones that lean toward the disrespectful side. Hmm…there’s something to ponder.
My close friends have always been those of different skin tones, hair colors, body shapes and sizes, eye colors, hair textures, athletic abilities, etc. but I never saw physical aspects of any kind as being an issue until the media said it was. I still don’t understand why they want to make it an issue other than promoting political agendas and making money.
“Sometimes I’m just as prejudiced as people I point fingers at. And that’s not right. How can I look at white skin and make assumptions but not want assumptions made about me? That’s not right
As Raven stated in her interview with Oprah, I am an American. I am NOT a Irish-German-Native American-American. I’m an American. Plain and simple. I was not born in three countries at once. We are all Americans. America is and always has been, a melting pot. We are all Americans.
Martin Luther King, Jr. said it well.
“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
