#TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet Taking Over Social Media
Social media went nuts over the weekend when a hashtag popped up on Twitter. #TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet has created a posting frenzy. The topic is believed to have risen up as response to a new poll that indicates Hillary has taken a double digit lead over Trump.
Female supporters of the presumptive Republican nominee took to Twitter. Proving that Trump has more women voters on his side than the mainstream media would have people believe, the showed a lot support and a lot of skin. Black, White, Asian, Hispanic; the photos are all-inclusive. Women from every walk of life put up pics to prove their point.
The photos range from fully clothed females to lingerie clad ladies. Their unifying component is that all of them have some sort of Trump gear. There are a good number of campaign signs (some very strategically placed.) A fair amount of Trump t-shirts are shown. “Make America Great Again” hats are featured in abundance. Even pro-Trump panties are pictured.
Regardless of their garb, all the women are joining forces to make sure social media knows where they stand.
The #TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet has created a firestorm of comments. Both supporters and haters have blown up the thread with posts. It has gained so much attention that it is the top trending topic on multiple social media outlets. Even CNN was talking about it and posted a collage (below) of some of the photos. Given that it just got started last night, that’s quite a feat.
Ironically, all the posts from the people in opposition are only serving to further the spread of the #TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet thread. They might not like it, but they are helping perpetuate it.
If I had a Twitter account, I might just join the fray. (As one of the more modestly attired, of course.) I can see me decked out in something flattering and patriotic brandishing a #neverhillary sign. I may not be 100% on the Trump Train, but you certainly never catch me anywhere near the Hillary Hindenburg.
