The Hilarious Way That Cops Are Getting Meth Heads To Turn Themselves In

Want to make a meth bust with minimal effort? Jump on social media.

That is what law enforcement officers in South Carolina and a few other locations are doing.

A few recent posts have some people laughing and others worrying.

The Salley Police Department released a “warning” to the public.

“Warning: If you have recently purchased meth in the wagener, Perry, salley or the Windsor area. Your meth is contaminated with the zika virus. Please bring your meth to the salley police department for testing. We will also make house calls. Thank you for your participation!!”

A “Breaking News” tag was attached.

Similar messages have been posted by a few other agencies.

It may sound like a hoax, but departments are using this as a legitimate means of apprehending drug offenders.

Sadly, they know it will work on some.

To the sane, the message seems laughable.

I mean, let’s freak out and run to the cops because we suddenly fear for our health after habitual drug abuse, right?

Addicts aren’t sane, however, and this ploy will, undoubtedly, bring at least a few people without officers having to set foot outside the station.

Fear of contamination from a virus they no little about will override what little sense of reason they still possess and they will go in.

The geniuses that opt for the “house call” option will save thousands of man hours and tax payer dollars. Meth labs, or at least storage sites, will be located voluntarily.

No numbers are in, as yet, to let us know if the “public service announcement” is working.

Admittedly, though, it’s kind of a brilliant tactic. Use the stupidity of the habitually high to your advantage.

It’s like they say. Work smarter, not harder.
