Word from overseas comes to We the People that the Occupier of the Oval Office is at it again. He’s insulting the American people behind our backs. Again. This time, “racist” is equated with “lazy.” Context being important, here’s the quote:
That especially becomes a problem when the economy is not doing well, and so people feel stressed,” he said. “Typically, when people feel stressed, they turn on others who don’t look like them.”…
“When suddenly things are harder, people start saying, ‘Ah, you know what, this is the fault of the Chinese,’ or ‘This is the fault of Jews,’ or ‘This is the fault of the Houthi,’ or whatever,” Obama said.
He even called Americans lazy and people who destory environments. “Usually when you see the environment destroyed, it’s not because it’s necessary for development,” he said. “It’s usually because we’re being lazy and we’re not being as creative as we could be about how to do it in a smarter, more sustainable way.”
He then said that Americans were isolated and too lazy to learn more about the world.
“The United States is and can be a great force for good in the world. But because we’re such a big country, we haven’t always had to know about other parts of the world,” he said. “If you’re in the United States, sometimes you can feel lazy and think we’re so big we don’t have to really know anything about other people.”
The slap about not knowing other cultures can be true, but the same can be said of people from overseas. Many times visitors come to the United States and are shocked to kind out it is not like what is seen on TV. This writer has traveled enough to know that people from other countries do not always know US state names, let alone where they are on a map. With the ready availability of the internet, though, more and more we are learning about other nations and customs.
As for being “lazy,” We the People who didn’t build the work of our own hands as Obama tried to tell us some time ago, who get up and work eight hour days in fluorescent lit hell holes aren’t the ones who have taken over eighty vacations in the last eight years on the taxpayers dime. This writer might work sitting down, but the repetitive stress injuries in her hands are nothing to sneeze at given the number of words typed every day. (Somewhere between 3,000-5,000 depending.)
So, Barack Obama can take his assertions that Americans are lazy, and shove it. Where is his choice, but insulting the people one is supposedly leading, is just really bad form.
