Sheriff David Clarke made Don Lemon look like a complete idiot last night and it was wonderful. Although Don Lemon claims to not support black lives matter, he has been on the front lines of the fight against police. Lemon REPEATEDLY blames race before the facts are in, and even offers his personal telephone number to the famlies of black criminals who tried to kill police.
Sheriff Clark put Don Lemon in his place, and you could tell that Lemon had no clue how to handle it. First, Sheriff Clark makes some amazing points about Black Lives Matter being a hate group.
“This anti-cop sentiment from this hateful ideology called Black Lives Matter has fueled this rage against the American police officer,” Clarke said.
“I’ve been watching this for two years. I’ve predicted this,” Clarke said. “This anti-police rhetoric sweeping the country has turned out some hateful things inside of people that are now playing themselves out on the American police officer.”
But instead of addressing those points, Lemon is worried about the Sheriff’s “tone”.
Throughout the entire interview, Lemon danced around the facts. Sheriff Clarke pointed out that there is no data that supports this narrative of police targeting black people. In response, Lemon quoted a Harvard study in order to “prove” the Sheriff wrong. That move, however, completely backfired.
Sheriff Clarke actually read the study, so he knew that the study concluded that there was NO RACIAL BIAS when it comes to the killing of black men by police. Lemon was left with no choice but to attempt to weasel out and claim “well, they only sampled a small group.” Nice try Lemon, but this guy actually knows his facts and he isn’t afraid to hit you with them.
In the most condescending fashion, Lemon told Sheriff Clarke that he knows it’s a tough time for him right now. The fact is, it’s going to continue to be a tough time for Sheriff Clarke and ALL police as long as race baiting pricks like Don Lemon are on the air peddling lies.
