Missing Baby’s Body Found In Dumpster

Little Eliza Delacruz, 3 weeks old, has been missing since Saturday when an intruder came into the Delacruz’s Long Beach home and shot her parents and uncle and then abducted little Eliza. San Diego authorities found a infant’s body in a dumpster at a strip mall on Sunday. The coroner’s office has confirmed that the infant is Eliza.

“The suspect who committed these horrific crimes remains outstanding,” Long Beach police said Sunday in a statement on the department’s Facebook page.

Eliza’s mother and uncle remain in critical condition. Her father has been released from the hospital.

Eliza was his first child.

Eliza’s father declined any comment when arriving home.

“They’re afraid of a person coming back again, if they talk, and that they could be the victim of any retaliation,” Long Beach Police Lt. Lloyd Cox said, according to the station. “So they’re terrified.”

This is not believed to be a random act. There is speculation that the abductor may have known the family. He has been described only as a dark skinned Hispanic or African American man. The authorities have little to no leads.
