Illegal Alien Tried To Cross Into U.S. Using A Border Patrol Agent’s Identification

This could get awkward.  Last week Border Patrol agents checked the papers of people on a bus at the Falfurrias checkpoint in Texas.  On the bus was a man who produced a driver’s license, birth certificate and social security card that matched the identity of another member of the border patrol.

The bus passenger handed them a driver’s license identifying himself as David, a 34-year-old man from Edinburg, according to federal court records.

Along with the driver’s license, the man had a birth certificate and a Social Security card identifying him as David.

Border Patrol agents working the checkpoint at 1 a.m. Thursday, though, knew David — and he wasn’t the guy on the bus.

They would have recognized him: David is a fellow Border Patrol agent assigned to the Falfurrias area, according to federal court records.

The bus was headed to Houston, but continued without the impostor.  He was pulled out by the Border Patrol and later identified as Orlando Castaneda-Diaz, a Mexican citizen who claimed to have illegally crossed the border on April 12.  He has been charged with making a false claim of U.S. citizenship.  A detention hearing has been scheduled for this week.

The real “David” requested his middle name be used in court records and reporting to protect his identity.

  1. It’s an interesting story and all, but I’m going to stop sharing them because I can barely get through them myself for all the advertising. It’s good to make money, but when the commercials pop up constantly, I cannot get to the actual story. My sole internet connection is my phone ans, on occasion, my tablet, so I’m disadvantaged already. So no more sharing as long as your commercials take up so much of MY time and MY phone screen.
