As expected, Hillary Clinton, former first lady, New York Senator, and Secretary of State announced her candidacy for Occupier of the Oval Office on Sunday. What was not expected, was the firestorm that popped up on Twitter over the logo. To put it mildly, the Twitter-verse panned it.
- “Hillary wants to swipe right.”
- “Seriously, that Hillary Clinton campaign logo looks like it was made in MS Paint.”
- “So what lucky 3rd grader won the Design the Hillary Clinton Campaign Logo contest?”
- “Did @HillaryClinton actually pay someone to design that logo?”
Really, from a graphics perspective it’s simple to the point of being childish despite the “smooth” insistence from Hillary’s campaign people.
And then there were the comparisons to existing logos and icons. Wikileaks put their logo next to the Hillary logo.
Someone suggested the Icelandic flag was ripped off.
The most obvious comparison was to FedEx’s logo with the right arrow in the lettering.
Just like the grifters the Clintons are, ripping off other people’s ideas, and making a mess of simplicity.
It’s going to be a long 20 months.
