What started as a normal high school girls basketball game near Atlanta, ended in total chaos.
Everything was fine until South Cobb High School lost the basketball game.
South Cobb coach, Melonie Joyce Martin then confronted the rival coach from Campbell High School and got in his face viciously threatening him. She then allegedly bit his eye and nose.
Witnesses heard her scream at the coach, Tyrone Harris:
“I’m about to beat your (expletive) and stomp you, and I’ll beat your (expletive) and knock your teeth out of your face.”
She was also alleged to have thrown a chair at Harris and threatened to bust his “grill.”
Martin is being charged with terroristic threats and acts and simply battery with a $7,500 bond.
Martin denies all allegations.
A statement has been released by Martin‘s attorney, S. Clinton Rouse:
“While she would like to respond in great detail revealing (the victim’s) true motivation for making such a sensational claim, based upon the advice of counsel, she must respect legal process and will introduce facts at the appropriate time in court.
Until then, Ms. Martin intends to vigorously fight the spurious claims by (the victim) and will continue to do what is in her power to protect her clean reputation for excellence in the classroom and in athletic programs within the school.â€
Her teaching and coaching status in unclear after the situation had occurred.
