Associated Press reporter Matt Lee asks State Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf about the renaming of the road in front of the Chinese Embassy in DC to honor a Chinese dissident.
He questions her as to the intent to “needle†the Chinese and if this is a good way to conduct foreign policy. Harf pulls the reliable “don’t comment on pending legislation†response out of her bag and uses it to avoid answering the question.
Lee is not one to “sit down, shut up and do like he’s told.†He presses the issue with the evasive and snooty Harf.
